I've had a similar unit before so had some understanding of how to set it up. There were some difficulties installing the hose outlet into the window -- the included plastic pieces didn't match up to my window and I needed a bit of cardboard and duct tape to achieve a proper fit. I also had to turn the hose fitting around to fit against the window frame. It cools the 12x12 bedroom beautifully with the help of a tower fan facing it from across the room. As a light sleeper I cannot run it at night but for me that's true with any fan. I have not yet tried to clean or drain it so don't know how easy or difficult that might be. The window being where it is, the cord is just long enough to reach the nearest outlet and I have to run it under the unit to do so if I want the unit facing into the room rather than at a wall -- it would be better designed if the cord were centrally located in the back or helpful if it were a wee bit longer. I cannot go drilling into the landlord's window frame for the window lock but a spring rod in the window channel (along with the duct tape) works to hold the window in place. This unit is much more effective and smaller than the other portable air conditioner I had and I prefer it. I would recommend it based on the way it works although I feel the design could be improved. .

This portable a/c 8000 btu is very convenience for the bed room. It is big and strong enough for my bed room and easy to set up. After set it up. the remote control connect with the unit are easy to control from speed, temperature and mode difference as: cool, drey or fan.

There is NO filter or easy way ( take apart casing) to clean the bottom air intake. I cleaned the two filters daily that the manual says to do weekly but the unit doesnt produce much cool air, my guess is because the bottom air intake is caked and no easy way or even mention to clean it. Could easily be a fire hazard with how much pet hair mine has picked up. Why is this not in the manual? Why is there no filter on that intake? Also the right air outlet does not even throw any air out, it all goes out the left side so it is rather misleading to design an exhaust that big. On maximum settings, from the left side you can only feel air flow from 4 feet away, it is faint.

After calling and online chat, they told me this would be powerful enough for my 10x20 sunroom in Florida. The room is fully insulated with thermopane windows. As the temperature rises outside, so does my room with the AC going full blast. It's also louder than I thought. This unit is brand new and useless

Great little air conditioner that we bought to cool our bedroom when our central air conditioner broke. It did a great job cooling our large bedroom in Florida during our hot summer. We are so glad we bought it since we can easily move it around to different areas of our house. Very easy to set up and easy to store when finished.

It is convenient. You can wheel it where you need it. Unfortunately since it isn't sticking out a window where the condensation collects and you don't have to worry about it you get and error message. The message means you have to disconnect everything so you can drain the condensation from a drain that is too low to the floor to catch the condensation. It's not much. Maybe 1/4 cup. Also for some reason doesn't always cool room as well as i'd like.

We purchased two units and that™™s all we needed for our ranch style home. They work very well, are easy to use and move the vent to a different window, if you change your mind on where tut them. At least my husband said so. Much easier than a traditional window unit. Easy to clean at the end of the season as well. They were not as energy efficient as I had hoped, but not not bad really.

I've only had this unit for a couple of weeks but when I ask it to cool down my bedroom so I can sleep, it does a great job and does it quickly. I like the timer so it shuts itself down after I'm asleep! So far it's everything that I bought it for!!

Our apartment building does not allow for window units, but does have a through-the-wall unit in the living room. The space is divided up too aggressively and the bedroom overheats easily in the summer. This was a really effective way to lower our electricity bills by keeping windows open 24/7, putting this in the bedroom, and closing the bedroom door. We run this for 8hrs while we sleep. Our bills went down $60/month. Awesome unit, does a great job. Knocking off 1 star for a poor implementation of an IR receiver. Impossible to get the remote to actually send timer commands to the unit. I just punch everything in on the top of the unit; the remote is useless.

Before purchasing my Frigidaire 8,000 BTU standing AC unit I read it was for small rooms but I use it in my large dining room and it chills the room. We love it and the only downside is that on high it is a bit loud. Otherwise we are very happy with it.

When I unboxed the unit the "slider unit" you install into your window was cracked and a piece was chipped off. Not only that, the unit did not match what I saw in an installation video. The slider unit was not the same. The slider appeared to be inverted such that you could not install it as prescribed. I called Frigidaire and the basically told me it was not their problem. They told me to call Home Depot. Home Depot tells me to call Frigidaire because it is an internet only item. So now I am stuck with something damaged that no entity takes responsibility for.

Instructions are a bit vague regarding interaction of Timer and Auto feature. Also the remote supplied has a button for swing, I believe this unit does not feature this function!Overall much quieter than prior unit of another brand.

I paid almost $400.00 for this unit at Bjs about a month ago it stopped cooling and is saying P1 I drained it reset it left it off for a few days and it™™s still not working properly I™™ve called several times and done the online chat nobody will help me so it™™s just money wasted I will never buy from Frigidaire again the ac is junk and the customer support and service is nonexistent

We received our new A/C 8000BTU unit for under $375 & fast delivery to from Home Depot. It was boxed very well. It™™s easy to install & connect w/ tube to window. Instructions are easy to follow to operate my new A/C unit too! Plus when online to register the unit was fast. The unit does everything I can wish for. I recommend it. Oh! It has a reusable filter jus wash & dry it. Ck after a few days the drain to see if there™™s any water you may need to remove? Much lighter than other units to go where ever you may need it to as long as you have a window four it. Again great for jus a room. If you have a bigger room get a 12 or 14000 btu unit! I hope this helped & good luck 2U

I use this in an outdoor small shed converted to a gym. 10 x16 area. I use it mostly on low in conjunction with a fan. It really does cool quickly and enough for a workout.

We use this for our master bedroom and it keeps our room at a cool 67 exactly where we set it. This is the quietest unit on the market, especially if you place it a foot off the wall and by a door opening. Then it™™s at quite 40db. We love how small it is! We put it on a 12inch small stand with a a 5 gallon bucket behind it to drain. This helps it work efficiently especially in human climates . I use the water to water plants ! Win win!

Nice little unit but disappointed in its cooling ability. We have it in our bedroom and the square footage is under what it said for adequate cooling. It cools ok but I was expecting it to be a lot cooler than it was.

This little ac is amazing. We use it for our daughters room that gets so hot. We had two other portable ACs we tried before this one (not both at the same time) and they were louder, bulkier, AND not as efficient. Neither got her room as cool and comfortable as this one. She is only 1, the second one we tried was too loud for her and she couldn™™t sleep as it cycled. This one is soo quiet and she sleeps right through it. Best purchase of the summer to ease our mama and daddy hearts knowing she is at least comfortable. Since we started using it and set it to 73- it has stayed between 72-73 easily and constantly. Cannot recommend enough.

This A/C does not cool well. I have to set it about 3 degrees lower than the actual temperature is (checked with thermometer). Blows from only one side and cannot adjust the lever to blow to other side. Wish I would have bought a better model

This AC works fairly well but has a few design flaws that are irritating. The cold air flow coming out of the unit aims all the way to the left as you are facing it. You have to rotate the unit to properly aim the cooled air toward the middle of the room which kinks the exhaust hose. The horizontal louvers are adjustable up and down, but that doesn't solve the air flow direction. Also, the control panel is on top of the unit, so you can't tell the status unless you walk right over to the unit to view the top, rendering the remote less useful. Unlike other portable units I have used, the fan does cycle on and off as needed. This saves energy, but I found it irritating at night because when the fan goes on and off, it is quite loud. Would be better to have some setting to keep fan on as compressor cycles on and off to keep constant white noise. The overall noise of the unit is tolerable, but still quite loud, but that's pretty much the case with all portable units. The compressor on/off cycling is a lot quieter than my old unit, which is nice. It takes quite a while to cool my 12x17 bedroom, longer than I would like, but it eventually gets the job done. Warm air leaks from the exhaust hose where it connects to the unit, no matter how I try to adjust. Overall, a fairly good, well-built unit, but could use some improvements.

We bought this when our AC unit stopped working in the middle of a heat wave. It works fairly well, we just didn't realize that it would have to be vented out a window, and the vent duct tube only stretches about 5-6 ft, so you can't really move it around very much. So, it isn't very portable and it doesn't cool a large area except for near the unit. Also, the vent duct itself is very hot, so the area around it is actually heated. So, while it did help during the heatwave, it really only works well for a small room.

Straight forward design & set-up; cools well enough for our needs; fairly quiet despite the continuous running. Only complaint is the length of the hose, pretty requires the unit to stay within 4 feet of window. Set up works for slider our smaller slider windows, although cut a piece of foam insulation to bind the plastic connector to create a tighter fit in the window which was easy to do. Helps us deal combat 80-100 degree heat from the heat domes that are coming more frequently. Since our home is insulated, this unit helps us keep our three bedrooms from rising above mid 70s. We have use another small window 8000 BTU unit to keep the kitchen/living/dining from doing the same. House square footage is 1700. Thankfully this is not an ongoing daily requirement as yet.
